The Therapist’s Response to the Pretzel Man
In James C Schaefer’s book “The Pretzel Man: a true story of phobias & back problems” (2002 published by 1stBooks) he shares his journey of healing from a debilitating anxiety condition to a full life. A journey, which he acknowledges, was possible only because of Thought Field Therapy (TFT). It was my role as his therapist to introduce him to Thought Field Therapy® and to guide him on parts of his journey.
Heart Rate Variability in Verifying Treatment Efficacy of TFT
HRV is gaining increasing popularity for use in both clinical and research settings as a measure of treatment success. Being stable and placebo-fee, it has the potential to meet this need. Twenty eight cases are presented from the clinical practices of the authors and one other TFT trained psychotherapist where HRV was used pre and post TFT treatment.
Pathological Hoarder or Just Stubborn
I know lots of ways use TFT to quickly treat anxiety conditions such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I don’t know of any tapping to get a stubborn person to change their position until they are ready to change.
TFT, Working through Traumatic Stress without the Overwhelming Responses
As a technique used in Traumatic Stress Response work, Thought Field Therapy (TFT) ends the overwhelming emotional and physical symptoms in a matter of moments, eliminates the overwhelming distress experienced and, in most cases, effects permanent change in that stimulus.
Engaging Clients Fearlessly
The knowledge that we can engage safely clients as they come to us with all their stories of horror, violence, pain, and suffering has been a benefit of learning TFT. Using it, we can bring relief of the overwhelming emotions of both our clients and ourselves quickly.
Immediate Symptom Relief, TFT in Trauma Work
Too good to be true was my first reaction to TFT. However; the proof of the value of this approach is apparent within minutes to both the therapist and the client.
TFT Allows us the Feelings We Need
Grieving is painful and hard work as we suffer through a loss. Not even TFT can alter this reality. TFT can manage the overwhelming pain and allow conscious engagement in a process of integrating the loss.
TFT and Traumatic Stress Recovery for Refugees and Immigrants

TFT and Veterans, Working with Men Who Kill
The vast majority of those who make up the TFT community are healers and teachers of all sorts. Few of us have lived the life of a warrior. Yet one of the greatest services we can offer to our community is to help heal the wounds of violence in all its forms.
