oreo cookiesA study done here states that Oreo cookies can be as addictive as cocaine. The body and the brain can only work with the materials we give them in forming the emotions and sensations that drive our behavior.  If, as this study suggests, a substance activates the same parts of the brain as when using cocaine then it makes sense that the substance will be addictive or powerful in our behavioral choices.  What is your Oreo? There is help with TFT. Tapping changes the emotions and sensations that make unhealthy demands for those substances so we can gain control and choose other behaviors.

Working with little ones requires we expand our awareness of what we are doing and how we are doing it. Doing DX with children demands you adjust the force you use and the awareness of their responses – Sharpening your sensitivity in muscle testing. Refining words and concepts describing our work in a meaningful way for a child at differing stages of development Hones and polishes our communication. The parent’s perceptions and interactions with children expands the complexity of the process of Analyzing the nature of blocks or factors to be addressed in treatment. The way children think and process is different than the way adults do. And this fact that children think and process is different than adults requires us to continually Expand the problem areas we treat beyond what we find in the expected adult arena. Nothing builds confidence more than success, and watching a child grow and change as energy toxins are Neutralized to eliminate problems at school and home warms our hearts and strengthens our confidence that we can and do make a difference with TFT.

Just Before You Sleep

In Thought Field Therapy the Subjective Units of Distress (SUD) is the most often used measure of change in our work. But it’s very difficult sometimes to know what a one on the scale would be because of the constant tension and stress in our lives. So one way to think about this is to experience yourself in a completely calm and relaxed moment as when you go to sleep.

We all have some awareness experience in our minds and bodies as we come close to sleep. For some of us this means a position that we put our bodies into to allow us to relax. For some of us there is a thought that we hold in our mind that brings us to calmness. For some of us it is a sensation that we experience in our heart or deep in our body. For me, this place is smooth, soft, even, and quiet. One on the 1 to 10 scale may feel different than this moment prior to sleep but this is a way to get people to think about what is going on in their mind and body and use this awareness in establishing their own SUD level. Once you are aware of this you can begin to calibrate your scale and have a place to return to if you are uncertain of the level of intensity you’re experiencing prior to using Thought Field Therapy.

Take a moment to remember the last time you slept. Take a moment next time when you’re about to sleep and notice the meter you use to rate intensity changes as you approach the moment of surrendering to sleep.  The amount of time you sleep can also become a measure of change to know if TFT is working for you.
